Hello,

I was wondering if I might build on this server. I'm your basic 40+ years old computer geek, married dad who finds himself slowing down in the online game world. Just started to play minecraft. Looking to build a small area to call home out in the sticks. Wanting to get on a server to see some of the cool stuff everyone is building. Thanks for your consideration.

Well I made my first foray into Lemuria last night. Wow. Some amazing things built here! I talked to a few people and learned about the "#summon toolkit" command which is a godsend! And started to explore.

I climbed the "Sparta" tower and jumped down the chute of death which was a fun experience. I wandered out to an amazing castle with this cool underground passage that led inside. And then I set out to build something of my own.

I wanted to try to fix on some landmarks so I could find the spot I chose if I died, so I went by the Sparta jump and saw a cool looking arch on the ground and continued on from. Found a nice humble spot on a beach that wasn't near anyone else and started to build a 10x6 house. Well I got three rows built and it got dark, and then next thing I knew I was being attacked and I flubbed my fingers on the controls and didn't get my sword out fast enough. Dead.

Well as you can guess, I couldn't find my way back to my house. I looked for about an hour which seems silly and just couldn't find it. I'm still scouring the google map to find it, but if you find it before I do, please feel free to destroy it. It was made out of wood and has a small portico in the front, with two torches on either side and another two on the front.

So there I was, it was getting dark, I didn't want to die again. So without a place to hang my hat, I dug into a hill and walled myself in. It was there that I decided to make my next house out of stone, so I started mining. As I went deeper and deeper I found deposits or iron ore, some flint, and coal. Since I was having fun, I decided to keep going and make myself a full suit of iron armor.

In no time (about 30-40 mins), I was clothed in some new armor! Huzzah! And by that time, I had a lot of stone. So, I went and found a spot that I liked on top of a cliff overlooking a lake with nobody around and started to build my stone citadel. I just got the first room made, there is no door and only one window (I was paranoid that I would get killed again and never be able to find my way back. Here are some pictures!

I use a map mod called Zan's Minimap so I do not get lost. You can add waypoints. I find it incredibly useful visiting others...I can always find my way home. :)

I'm not done building it. I found caves around my house...they must be explored! :)

I can't wait for the map to update again so I can see how far out I've gotten. I went on a mini expedition that turned into something pretty big... found a badass cliff to build off of!
