Language of the Heart complete instrumental
Finally got a so-so recording of this piece done. Still needs a lot of work. Thankfully there’s not really any technical problem I’m having in regards to playing it, just a mental one. It actually comes very easily, but when I try to string all the parts together I get sloppy (as you’ll hear here…).
This is a bit repetitive as it’s sung over, that will come soon enough.

This one is also coming along nicely. I wonder if you could listen to Wilcox through headphones while playing along. You’d need to tune to (DADGAD)^b = DADGAD tuned down 1/2 step. If you could practice and play along with him, I think that might help your phrasing and your sense of song structure. Then for your next recording of this song, put Wilcox through your headphones (just wear one side of the headphones if you don’t have a mixing board or some other way of feeding yourself both Wilcox and your playing) during the recording session and try to match his rhythm, phrasing, etc.
Cheers,
T
