St. Whatricks day?

Well I seem to have missed and even forgotten about St. Patricks day this year. It’s funny because Leah and I were actually talking about it last week. We made a trip down to guitar center, and then had dinner at a Bennigans. They were already all decked out and ready for it.

Did you know corned beef is very non-irish? Sure, it was popular… among nobles, rich, and royalty. The average irishman could never afford to eat corned beef historically. It’s very much an American thing. That’s just another example of how the oral history we take for granted is often fiction.

In other news, Leah’s got a Piano again. Ok it’s not technically a piano, it’s a keyboard. It’s a full size, weighted key, touch sensitive keyboard. It basically kicks ass. I keep wanting to go in there and play with it, despite not being able to play much at all. It’s full midi, and Leah will be getting a mac dedicated to it before long. I also got some much needed guitar strings for both guitars.

I’ve updated my photo gallery to the latest version of the software, and added a plugin that lets you view the latest images (as opposed to searching through each album.) I’ve also added a feature that lest you look at the top 9 most viewed images. You can see these links on the homepage, right under the thumbnails.

Maybe I’ll pick up some Killians tonight for some belated celebration.

I live in Costa Rica, where no one celebrates. Without the constant themed commercials, office chat, and parties that my friends invite me to, St. Patty’s Day completely slipped my mind this year. Shame, because I would have loved to feed my Costa Rican friends Irish Potatoes and introduce them to the wonder of green beer. Oh well, I guess there’s always next year!
