The first official day of 2007
Everyone knows not to count the 1st of January, right?
2006 was an eventful year. We bought our first house, moved out of Florida, I took my first trip over the pond, my father retired, and I converted like a billion people to apple computers. We also got a dog.
His name is Duncan. We adopted him from the SPCA this past Saturday. He’s a 2 year old long haired dachshund. He is either a double dapple (rare genetic combination,) or a slightly mixed breed. He’s got a great personality and is quite smart. We’re gradually adjusting Merle to her new housemate, and it’s going well so far. We think they’ll get along fine in a week or so.
I also turned in my two week notice last week at my current employer. It wasn’t an easy decision, I’d been there almost four years, and I really do get along and enjoy working with everyone there. It’s a good situation to be in when the difficult decision of taking a new job is because you like them both. An opportunity came up that has vast potential, and I couldn’t really turn it down. I didn’t want to turn it down of course, but it still feels a bit odd leaving a place that’s been so good to me.
2007 is going to be big.

Dude, that’s a cute dog, but my wife is freaked out by it’s human-like eyes. Hope the new job is everything you’re hoping for. ^_^
