Aquarium Stand

The week before Christmas I finally finished the aquarium stand my father and I designed and built back in October. Everything was completed the week he visited except for some caulking and painting. It took me two months but I finally got to it. Now I have a gigantic custom built aquarium stand sitting in our entry hall. I must say it turned out quite handsome.

I didn’t notice at first, but the black door panels look somewhat like leather the way they’re textured. The paint is a semi/light gloss so the bit of shine you get really ads to the effect. Each of the black panels are removable. They’re fixed in place by a a lip on the bottom and magnets at the top, so there is plenty of storage space for tubing, wiring, filters, food, etc.

Now I’m ready to go get an aquarium and accessories. There will be either a 125 or 150 gallon tank sitting on this base. Haven’t decided what types of fish to get yet, but it will be a marine tank, possibly even a living reef.
