Are you making what you should be?
Why don’t you go find out? SalaryScout is a new site dedicated to helping you find out. Haven’t you ever wanted to ask your friend what they’re making, but felt it too rude to pry? It’s kind of taboo, people just don’t speak of salaries, especially if they’re in like professions–or heaven forbid–the same company.
SalaryScout does away with that. You enter a simple description of your job, region, and how much you make and people can see this but no one can tie it to you. You can also look at what other people in area are making, and other areas. Maybe a software developer gets paid a lot more in Cincinnati than he would in Atlanta for some reason? Now you can see. Maybe you’re not even sure what you SHOULD be making in the first place, now you have a place to look.
It’s quick and simple to submit your info. If you’re just curious, or actually need the information to plan your future (or present,) it’s definitely worth a look. Your anonymous info might be what someone needs to realize they’re getting cheated, so do them a favour and let them know by filling out a profile. Everything is completely anonymous so you need not be ashamed of being a below minimum wage stable shoveler. Who knows, the stables the next town over might pay more.
Techcrunch just did an article on the site here
