Why is the internet so angry?

Lately it seems to me that the net is getting more and more aggressive… or at least passive aggressive. I’m not talking about people ranting on their blogs (one of my past times.) I’m talking more about how people attack each other constantly on forums, and even through news articles/reviews. What is that? Things didn’t used to be like this.

It seems like nearly every comment I read lately, be it on a common interest discussion forum, or a legit news source is borderline offensive/insulting to the subject. Example: a reaction to Nintendo’s naming choice for it’s new console. Yes it’s named the Wii. Grow up, be serious. If you read nintendo’s press release and marketing I think it’s very elegant and fits with the overall theme and goal of the console. But no, people aren’t stopping to think or consider. They’re just going “HAHAHAHA THEY MEAN PEE.” It’s ridiculous, these are adults reacting this way.

[blockquote]In religion and politics, people’s beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second hand, and without examination. –Mark Twain[/blockquote]

How appropriate. Thanks Google Quote of The Day!

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this day and age the shows meant to lampoon other news and pundit shows happen to be more informative and less biased than their targets. I really don’t know what’s become of people. I know alot of this is human nature, maybe it’s just a function of fast global communication networks that highlights the problems.

Next time you hear something, see something, read something don’t just react to it, think about it for a few minutes first.

I can’t believe you’re asking people to stop and think! WTF?! Are you on crack?! That’s a very stupid comment to make. What makes you think people actually care? Quit wasting my time, and write about something interesting for a change.

So Nintendo renamed the revolution. Biggest non-issue to date. Who knows, the system might be so much fun that it makes you exclaim, “Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”

    Whatever.

As far as the futon is concerned, when we had to sleep on ours it was considerably more comfortable just throwing the mattress on the floor. Had too many aches and pains after that first night, but then your futon probably isn’t as big a POS as ours was.
