The future is dark
Do you think of the future? I don’t mean your future, I mean the future of mankind, earth, maybe even the universe itself. Whenever I let my mind wander down those paths the vision is dark, not in a foreboding or bad way, but simply the lack of light. I’m sure this is influenced a lot by sci-fi TV and movies, but I think it’s also kind of obvious to some extent.
Right now life is pretty bright, at least outside for a good portion of the day, but as we progress technologically and spread to the stars, that’s just going to be one aspect of the human experience, and it may even become a luxury not available to the masses. Of course this is all conjecture with very little backing since so many things can change over the course of only a century. Where will we be in 1000 years? Well we better be off this rock, at least a lot of us or we’re dead. That means space stations, with artificial light sources, cryosleep perhaps, or maybe we’ll go digital and become cybernetic, mental life forms within machine bodies.
I’m for it whichever way it goes really, I’d like to use the sun as an energy source only.
(Sunburn sucks.)
Oh, and additional VS2005 crashes
