looting
First of all, I agree that in the grand scheme of things, one store being looted amidst all the chaos up there is inconsequential. What’s important is three fold:
1) order is restored so people aren’t in danger from other people.
2) food/medical attention gets to the people that need it
3) anyone that is still stuck get evacuated.
That’s really what matters. Now… that said take a look at this.
New Orleans Police Looting a Store
I don’t want to contribute to saving those people. I don’t want to contribute to paying those cops. Great example your setting, let’s restore order by stealing whatever you can get your hands on.
What is broken within these people that they think because bad things have happened to them, they’re entitled to do as they please? This isn’t a matter of survival here, these people aren’t taking food and water. They’re taking anything they can. It’s not rational, and it’s not acceptable. There is no excuse for it.
