Vigilante, or coincidence?

They found Russia’s largest Spammer dead today. Apparently from trauma to the head from a blunt object.

You may be thinking something like “wow, someone was killed because of spam, how tragic,” or some other crap. No way, guy had it coming. I’m surprised it took this long for someone to actually off one of those bastards. This guy made his living by harassing people, like a telemarketer except more insidious on a much larger scale. Also you can tell telemarketers to take you off their list and they will do it (at least some of them.)

Not only was this guy probably a pest to you now and then, but millions of other people. Through his direct actions he probably drove up your internet bill because your provider had to hire people and buy equipment to filter out the mountains of shit he was shovelling. Most likely he also trafficked in phishing/fraudulant baiting emails along with the spam.

You may think him being killed is somewhat extreme, but it smacks of justice to me. Sure it would have been better had he been tried and sentenced to something a bit more appropriate–unfortunately I’m pretty sure he couldn’t afford the millions of dollars he’s cost people so I’m satisfied with him being stopped.

Would I kill someone guilty of a similar behavior? Probably not. I’d enjoy giving them a thorough beating though, and definitely won’t shed any tears.
