Stolen Umbrella

Hello LJ, it’s been a long time. Have you lost weight, you’re looking trim!

I’ve been enjoying all the storms down here in South Florida lately, especially with my newly aquired umbrella. Now it can pour, and I don’t have wring myself out before and after lunch. This little fella escaped the clutches of Publix by hiding in our cart while we were checking out. We didn’t have the heart to send him packing back to his cruel publix overlords, so we shuffled him out via the underground railroad. Actually it was just our car, and more of a drive than a shuffle.

In other news, my computer is mostly dead. I can get it to come on for a while, but it’ll lockup anywhere from 5-20 minutes afterwards. The funny thing is it’s *not* overheating anymore now. I am an invoice or two away from ordering it’s replacement:

It’s been a tad over a week since I saw Star Wars Episode III. When I first came out of the theatre I thought “That’s better!” The train of thought was: in comparison to the first two movies, this one was great. After a week of mulling it over I realize how sad a statement that really is. Normally I’m pretty forgiving of movies, I’ll make excuses for them. I can’t really do that with this. The truth is EP III wasn’t very good. If you ignore the plot holes you can enjoy it from it’s tremendous use of special effects, and well choreographed action. Unfortunately that still doesn’t make up for the poor acting and writing. By the second Anakin/Padme scene you can’t wait for her to die. Anakin continues to be a whiny brat whos hormones are the singular downfall of the republic. Lord Vader is forever emasculated. He’s also downright Stupid.

But honestly, George Lucas could have filmed himself sitting in a chair drinking cognac and making fun of us for Episode III and it still would’ve broken box office records. I’ll probably still buy it one day, and I’ll watch it again. At least Obi Wan stayed true to character and was well portrayed.
