Something I never thought I’d hear.
So I got in my car to head to lunch, turned on npr. (WLRN here in south florida.) I did a doubletake.. or whatever it is you do a double of when listening instead of watching.
Then I checked to see if I was in fact on the radio, and not playing a cd.
Then I looked around to see if I was in some weird sort of parallel universe.
None of that was the case, but sure enough, the Evangelion theme (Cruel angel’s thesis) was playing on NPR, clear as day. I caught it right at the begining to.

After a few seconds, after making sure I was in fact awake, I proceeded to drive home. What followed as a brief discussion and synopsis of the directors release of the last bit of Eva and a review. On public radio… NATIONAL public radio. Funded by the government and listeners… not advertisements. Whoa. While I’ve always loved NPR and they do have all sorts of non american culture discussed this is not something I would have expected. Cool though!
